Chennai Institute of technology (CIT) is one of the familiar institutes which was founded under Seeniammal Educational Trust in the year 2010 which is situated Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The CIT was founded with the aim to impart superior practical education with ample industrial exposure and cater the requirements of candidates with innovating teaching procedure.

Chennai Institute of technology offers UG Course BE/B Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Mechatronics and Electrical & Electronics Engineering and offers PG Course ME/M Tech in Applied Electronics, Communication & Networking, Computer Science Engineering and CAD/CAM.

  • Admissions for BE/B Tech will be based on the minimum aggregate marks obtained in 10+2 Examination and selection procedure is done through TNEA Entrance Exam.
  • Candidates from the Tamil Nadu who have secured 10+2 Examination from another state should produce nativity certificate in order to take admission through community quota.
  • Admissions for ME/M Tech are based on the rank obtained in GATE/TANCET Entrance Exam. Candidates should be completed bachelor’s degree with required aggregate marks. Candidates who have not secured valid score in GATE Entrance Exam should appear for TANCET and must attend the TANCA Counseling.
  • Reservation Criteria will be as per the rules and regulations of Anna University and Tamil Nadu State Government.

Chennai Institute of Technology BE/B Tech Admission Process

Chennai Institute of Technology offers BE/B Tech in 6 Specializations. Candidates who are looking to get admissions for BE/B Tech will be based on the eligibility of minimum 50% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry, Math’s 10+2 Examination. Selection of candidates is done through TNEA Entrance Exam. Eligible candidates must appear for TNEA Counseling with required documents.

The CIT also offers Lateral Entry BE /B Tech .Admissions for Lateral Entry will be based on the marks obtained in Diploma and candidates must secure 50% aggregate marks.

Candidates can visit the official site of Anna University or TNEA official site to fill up the form. Candidates who are looking to take admission in management quota can apply directly through institute level.

Chennai Institute of Technology ME/M Tech Admission

Chennai Institute of Technology ME/M Tech admissions will be based on the marks obtained in bachelor’s degree and Entrance Exam. Candidates should be graduated with 50% aggregate marks in bachelor’s degree BE/B Tech and must secure valid rank in GATE/TANCET Entrance Exam. Eligible Candidates must appear for TANCA Counseling with required educational proofs.

Candidates who are looking to get admissions for ME/M Tech can apply the application form by visiting the official site of Anna University or official site of TANCET Website.

GATE Candidates who are secured in 2015, 2016 & 2018 Entrance Exam are qualified to apply for TANCA Counseling.

Chennai Institute of Technology admission for me was for the 2nd year lateral entry because I was a diploma student and he process was all guided by a faculty. I had to just visit the college and take admission. I dint had any entrance exam but I had to go through the TNEA counselling for the B.tech admission.

CIT provides admissions for B-Tech based on TNEA counseling results. Chennai Institute of Technology's cut-off through TNEA for the CSE stream is 6712. 

What will be the selection criteria for the B-Tech CSE stream at CIT?

B-Tech admissions at CIT are based on academic merit and TNEA results. Chennai Institute of Technology's cut-off score through TNEA for the CSE stream is 29926.
