The Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences (BRIMS) is a Karnataka-based autonomous institution founded in 2000. It is connected with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and is accredited by the Medical Council of India (MCI) (RGUHS). The college provides an undergraduate MBBS program and a postgraduate MD program with various specialities. The college is well-known for providing outstanding medical education to aspiring medicos. NEET UG and NEET PG scores determine admission to MBBS and MD/MS degrees. The annual intake for MBBS is 400 seats. Whereas for MD, 120 seats are available. The college delivers highly experienced individuals who are aware of various methods for disseminating their knowledge.

  • At BRIMS, 85% of seats are reserved under State Quota, and the remaining 15% of seats are applicable for the All India Quota Category.
  • For 85% of seats, the Karnataka State Medical counselling authority will carry the admission forward. For 15% AIQ seats, Counselling will be conducted by MCC.

Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS Admission

  • An applicant must be 17 years old on or before the 31st of December in the year in which they apply for the program.
  • A candidate must have passed the Indian School Certificate Test or the equivalent higher secondary examination (10+2 Higher) as eligibility for MBBS to BRIMS.
  • For admission to the MBBS at BRIMS, candidates should undertake NEET UG Entrance Exam.
  • Once the NTA has released the NEET scorecard, the student must register for NEET counselling.
  • In Counselling, candidates must fill their preferences and must complete the document verification process.
  • If the student's NEET Rank is identical to the BRIMS NEET Cut off norms, then there is a chance to secure an MBBS admission seat during the seat allotment process.
  • NEET Cut-off rank differs when students take MBBS admission through the Karnataka state quota and for All India quota. Also, the cut-off differs based on category-wise.

Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences MD Admission

  • An applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in medicine and a high NEET PG score, as well as a year of internship experience as eligibility for MD at BRIMS. MCI must have recognized an MBBS degree.
  • A candidate must pass the NEET PG test to be considered for MD admission to BRIMS.
  • An applicant must complete the NEET PG application form, which may be found on the organization's official website, which is online mode.

Karnataka's NEET counselling process

Students interested in applying for UG or PG admissions at BRIMS must first complete the NEET counselling rounds, which are as follows:

Step 1: Register and log in to your account: To access the Karnataka Counselling rounds, candidates must click on the provided link and select the "online counselling" option. The candidate's NEET rank and their roll number, registration number, and application form must be included.

Step 2: Fill in the blanks with the following information: The Karnataka NEET counselling selections, which comprise the list of colleges, location, college code, courses, and district name, must be completed online by the applicants.

Step 3: Saving the changes: After the applicants have made all of their selections, they must save them, and an OTP will be sent to them as confirmation. The candidate's preferences would be sealed automatically by the Karnataka counselling deadline.

Finally, seat allocation decisions will be made in numerous rounds, with students having the opportunity to affirm the decision.

I got the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences admissions for the MBBS course would be actually be made on basis of All India entrance exam which is NEET. We need to actually participate in the counselling so in the first round I actually didn’t get college but in the 2nd round I was allotted seat in this college for the MBBS course. Bidar medical college cut-off marks is 6626-8246 (general category), 37940-46496 (SC) and 54546-54546 (ST) so that the ranking pattern of the college we need to get for the seeking admission to the MBBS course. This is Government College so there won’t be actually management quota seat.

I am a MBBS graduate from BIMS, I’ll be listing out some useful information regarding Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences admissions. First up, the aspirants need to meet BIMS eligibility criteria which includes the candidate should be 17 years old at the time of admission and have pursued their 12th grade in science stream having secured a min. of 50% average marks from a recognized institute. BIMS merit admissions are done based on the KCET or the NEET-UG scores, BIMS NEET cutoff is subject to variation every academic year. Also, BIMS direct admissions are done for those who don’t get through merit admissions.
