Army Institute of Management MBA Admission

The two-year regular MBA programme at AIM in Kolkata is available in six specializations. It focuses on providing this to the general candidates and the wards of Army troops. Therefore, the eligible candidates should be the children of ex-army members, active army members, and army war widows. Below mentioned are the 6 specializations of the MBA program offered by the college:

AIM Kolkata Eligibility Criteria for MBA

  • Candidates who have taken the CAT or JEMAT are eligible to apply for the MBA programme.
  • UG degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% that the Association of Indian Universities has recognized is required for admission to the MBA programme.
  • Candidates who would finish all bachelor's degree requirements by June 30 are also eligible to apply.
  • Group discussion and personal interviews (GD & PI ) would be scheduled for those participating in the CAT.
  • Candidates with valid JEMAT Rank cards and MAKAUT Allotment cards will be admitted directly to AIM.
  • Hence, there is a provision for Army Institute of Management Direct admission for the students who have qualified in JEMAT without appearing in GD and PI

AIM Kolkata Eligibility Criteria for Army Category

  • Children of qualified serving Army personnel, former Army personnel, and Army combat widows are eligible for admission to the AWES Professional Colleges.
  • At the time of their retirement, death, discharge, release medical board, or invalided medical board, ex-Army members were granted or awarded a regular pension, family pension, disability pension or liberalized family pension.
  • After 10 years of service, former soldiers elected to be discharged or released.

Special Cases Eligibility Criteria

  • Children of Remarried Widows and Children of Adopted/Step Parents
  • Children who had been adopted at least five years before applying.
  • Children of former Army Medical Corps and Army Dental Corps officers who are currently serving in the Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN/IAF) and who have a minimum of ten years of Army service.

Children of APS/MNS/TA Personnel who are:

  • As per Government of India's Ministry of Defence, defined as ex-servicemen.
  • On deputation after serving in the Army for 10 years.
  • The MNS members who served for 10 years as regular members or who received an Army pension
  • directly hired into APS and retired from APS after 10 years of service without reverting to the P&T Department.

AIM Kolkata MBA Selection Criteria

  • The entrance test score and the candidates' prior academic records are used to narrow down the candidates for group discussions and personality interviews.
  • Candidates will receive an email or text message informing them they have been shortlisted.
  • Army Institute of Management  Kolkata CAT Cut off is 60 percentile above.
  • Candidates will receive calls to AIM Kolkata for the GD and PI rounds.
  • The ultimate merit list will be based on the applicant's admission score, prior academic achievements, work experience (if any), and GD and PI performance.
  • Candidates will receive notification of their final selection through email or on the website, and they will then be required to pay a fee of INR 60,000 through SBI Collect online.

How to apply for Army Institute of Management Kolkata

  • Candidates who wish to apply for admission to AIM, Kolkata, must complete the online application form.

  • Based on merit, candidates who pass the CAT will be contacted for a group discussion and a personal interview round in Kolkata.
  • Candidates are responsible for covering their hotel, food, and travel costs. Email notifications will be sent to the shortlisted candidates.
  • Every year, the GD-PI is typically held in March in Kolkata.
  • Before the GD-PI on the same day, candidates must present all original documents (uploaded in the admission form).
  • In addition, the candidates must deliver photocopies of the aforementioned documents to the admissions office after verification.
  • TATA Defence Welfare Corpus offers TATA Merit Scholarships to the best two-performing Army students each year through the Rehabilitation and Welfare Section of the Ceremonial and Welfare Directorate. The top student receives INR 20,000, while the runner-up receives INR 15,000 in prizes.
  • Army Commander's Scholarships: Each year, two students from each batch have been given a scholarship for INR 25,000.
  • Chairman's Scholarships: Given annually to two students from each batch by HQ Bengal Subarea.

The Army Institute of Management in Kolkata offers an MBA program as one of the best courses in their academics. AIM is affiliated with MAKAU and is also accredited by NAAC with an A grade. The admission criteria for the MBA program at AIM is based on academic merit in the qualifying exam, followed by CAT/CMAT entrance exams. The total intake of students per year is around 120 members. Applications can be submitted in online mode using the website of the institute. The applications will be available from December-January for admissions.
