In Kerala, Alphonsa College is one of the pioneer institutions for the higher education of women. The college has now attained the status of a First Grade Woman’s College. It is declared a Minority Educational Institution by the National Commission for Minority Educational Institution, Government of Kerala. The basic aim is to encourage students in excellent academic pursuits, and every aspect of human aspires to achieve perfection. They follow a spiritually-oriented and value-based education system to educate young women under any circumstances.

The college is a private institute affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, which offers undergraduate and post-graduate level courses. There was a BA program in streams like English, Economics, History, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics and B.Sc. in Botany, Zoology and Computer Applications, and B.Com and B.Voc. At the PG level, there is MA in English and Political Science as well M.Sc. in Zoology (aided courses), M.Sc. in Chemistry and Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics (self-financing).

  • The eligibility for a B.Sc. course is the completion of 12th with not less than 50% marks in PCM while BA, B.Com, and B.Voc eligibility required is class 12th passed in any stream. For MA and M.Sc., admission to Alphonsa College, the eligibility required is students graduated with a minimum aggregate from a recognized university.
  • Although the university conducts no entrance exam, the final admission to Alphonsa College is made through previous qualifying examination marks basis. Depending on certain criteria, the cut-off marks vary every year.
  • The offline admission process to Alphonsa College is taken: applicants from the college admission office need to collect the application form and then have to fill the application form by entering the complete details, attach the documents, and submit the duly filled form to process.

I have opted B.Sc. Course in Alphonso College and now am in final year. Alphonsa College admissions are done on the basis of Merit score in last qualified examination that is based on 12th score. To say about admission fee it is very much feasible compare to any other college I paid approximate 3k for 1st year and for 2nd year I paid around 2k and for overall duration it charges approximate 7k.The Course curriculum of B.Sc. is expedient for learning and convenient for studying. Infrastructure is too good in our college and it is designed well and mainly emphasis on practical learning.

B.Sc. is a UG program offered at Alphonsa College and is open for students who have completed 10+2 board exams with min of 50% marks. No entrance test is required for admission.

Candidate's eligibility for M.Sc. course at AC must have passed Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. Admission for M.Sc. at AC depends on merit in the qualifying exam followed by institute-level counseling.
