Associate Membership of Institute of Engineers Exam [AMIE]
Institute of Engineers is responsible for conducting Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers Examination (AMIE). The Institute of Engineers is a national association of engineers in India, established in 1920, and it is situated in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is also the world’s largest multi-disciplinary engineer’s professional society which prepares the syllabus, conduct entrance exam and issues the certificates. It is also acclaimed for initiating non-formal education in engineering. AIME examination is being conducted for an engineering degree program recognized under State Government, Central Government, and it is equivalent to BE/B Tech. The test is conducted twice a year.
AMIE is also anticipated as an eligibility qualification to appear for the competitive exams like Indian Civil Service, GATE, Indian Engineering Services, etc., and considered for employment at Public & Private Sectors in India. This qualification is mainly recognized under the Ministry of HRD, Indian Government, equivalent to BE /B Tech. AMIE 2025 Eligibility criteria
To appear for the AMIE 2025 Examination, candidates must meet certain eligibility conditions prescribed by the concerned admission authority. Those candidates who fulfill the eligibility conditions can apply for the AMIE entrance examination according to the prescribed schedule. AMIE 2025 Eligibility Terms & Conditions follow
- Candidates who have completed a three-year Polytechnic Diploma course or equivalent can apply for the AMIE examination.
- Candidates who have qualified in the 12th Class or Intermediate examination with a minimum 45% aggregate score are also eligible to appear for the entrance examination.
- Candidates shall have studied Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics as mandatory subject in class 12 and must have secured a minimum aggregate score.
- Whereas candidates belonging to the reserved category will have 5% of relaxation in aggregate score. Such candidates can secure a minimum 40% aggregate score.
- To be noted, age restrictions will not be applicable for the AMIE Examination.
AMIE 2025 Application Form & fees
The AMIE application process will be conducted in both online and offline mode. The AMIE 2025 application process will begin in March. Interested applicants need to submit the application form by April. According to the specified deadline, applicants who meet the above eligibility criteria can submit the application form. Before filling up the application form, the candidates should ensure the eligibility conditions and then apply.
Online mode:
The AMIE online application process concludes with specific steps that candidates need to follow. Measures include the registration process, filling up the form, uploading documents, and paying the stipulated fees. Step 1: At first, candidates required to visit the official website of AMIE (@ www.ieindia.org)
Step 2: On the home page, click on “AMIE Registration.” Then, the candidate registration window will appear on the screen.
Step 3: Proceed to fill up all the details, such as Name, Valid Email ID, and Mobile number, and then click on the “Submit” option.
Step 4: Upon successful registration, candidates will receive a unique registration ID for their mail ID.
Step 5: After the registration process concludes, candidates can fill the application form. Enter all the necessary details such as educational qualifications, personal details, and other information that has been mentioned in the application form. Then, choose the exam center as per your preference and convenience.
Step 6: After filling up the details thoroughly, candidates must upload the scanned images of the educational documents and passport-sized photo and signature as per the prescribed specifications. If candidates fail to upload the documents, then their application form will be considered invalid.
Step 7: Once the application form is filled out with accurate details and after uploading the documents in the proper format, candidates required to preview the details before clicking on submit option
Step 8: At last, candidates required to pay the AMIE 2025 application fee, which costs INR 3000, and the application fees payment can be made through online mode by using any one of the payment methods (Net Banking / Credit Card/ Debit Card)
Offline mode
- If candidates wish to submit the application form through offline mode, they must first log on to the official website of AMIE (www.ieindia.org)
- Then, proceed to download the AMIE application form and print out the same.
- After getting the printout, fill up all the necessary details in the application form, such as personal, contact, and qualification details. To be noted, while filling in the details, candidates must make sure it is appropriate.
- Candidates must choose the preferred AMIE examination center and write down the exam center's code number.
- AIME application fees, which cost INR 3000, should be paid through demand draft in favor of “The Institution of Engineers, India,” payable at Kolkata. It is recommended for the candidates to mention the details of DD in the application form.
- After filling up the complete details, candidates must affix the recent passport size; otherwise, the varsity will reject the application form.
- Then, attach the photocopies of necessary educational documents and send the form via speed for the given address mentioned below.

AMIE 2025 Syllabus & Exam Pattern
AMIE Examination is being conducted to secure professional certification, which the Institution of Engineers, India, renders. Candidates must qualify in laboratory experiments/practical test, Section A, B, and Project Work. After preparing for the test, candidates will become members of the institute of engineers and obtain graduate engineer status equivalent to a B.Tech. graduate. The Institution of Engineers will conduct the AMIE 2025 Examination in June in offline mode (pen-paper based).

AMIE Section-A Examination
This will be considered a common exam for those candidates who wish to secure an equivalent engineer degree by qualifying in AMIE. To appear for the Section-A exam, candidates must be well-versed in the important topics and syllabus, such as engineering sciences, communication, and basic sciences. After qualifying in Section A, candidates can appear for the Section-B exam, and here they will be able to choose any of the specific disciplines.
AMIE Section-B Examination
After the conclusion of the Section-A examination, the candidate must complete project work for the duration of 1 year. Varsity will consider the candidate's performance in section A and work, and thereafter it will prepare the report of the eligible candidates. Thus, qualified candidates can appear for Section-B Examination. It comprises 10 papers. Among the 10 question papers, candidates must compulsorily attend 7 question papers, and three are considered optional.
AMIE 2025 Admit Card
The authority will release the AMIE 2025 Admit Card after completing the AMIE Application Process. Candidates who successfully register for the entrance exam AMIE by applying within a given time frame. Such candidates will be eligible to access the admit card through online mode only by logging into the official website. (@ www.ieindia.org) Usually, admit cards will be released 15 days after the examination date. As AMIE is scheduled to be conducted in June, admit cards might be released either in the 1st week of June or April.
- An admit card is an important identity that contains details about candidate name, registration ID, exam center name & venue, exam schedule, and other important AMIE exam guidelines.
- It is important to note that candidates should carry their admit cards on exam day at the exam center without fail. If any of the candidates fail to bring an admit card on exam day, they will not be allowed to take the exam.
- Please make sure they admit card details are accurate; otherwise, their candidature might get rejected, leading to consequences. In case any discrepancy is found in the admit card, candidates must immediately contact the respective exam authority for corrections.
- Along with the admit card, candidates must carry any ID proofs, such as the Aadhar Card, voter ID, or Pan Card, on examination day.

AMIE 2025 Results & Score Card
After the AMIE examination concludes, the authority will announce the AMIE 2025 results on its official website via online mode. The result will be declared a few weeks later, after the exam's conclusion. Institute of Engineers will release the results tentatively in July. AMIE Result will be available in candidate rank scored, percentile, and qualifying status. Candidates can access the AMIE score card by logging into the official website, required to enter their registered ID to download the AMIE score card or result.
