All India Law Entrance Test [AILET]
All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a national level entrance exam that has been organized by the National Law University (NLU), Delhi. This exam is scheduled for providing admissions in UG & PG law courses (B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M, Ph.D. Programs) offered by the Delhi national law university and its affiliated institutions. AILET examination has been conducted once a year in May. The National Law University, Delhi, was founded in the year 2008 by Act No. 1 of 2008 is a premier Law University established in India's capital city.
Candidates looking to get admission for the law courses through AILET can apply the application form through online mode by visiting the official website (nludelhi.ac.in). The Online registration/Application process for AILET will begin in January, and it will end up in 1st week of April. Applicants who have registered successfully can avail of the AILET Admit Card through the official website. AILET Examination will be conducted through offline mode in April 3rd week, and results will be declared after the completion of the examination in June. Candidates who will qualify in the All India Law Entrance Test should appear for AILET Counselling.

AILET 2025 Eligibility criteria
The NLU, Delhi specify specific eligibility criteria. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before applying for the All India Law Entrance Test.
For B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) course: - Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with securing minimum 50% aggregate. The candidates must be below 21 years as of 1 July 2017 (23 years in case of SC/ST category) for the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) program.
For LL.M: - Candidates should have completed LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with securing 55% marks (for general candidates) and 50% marks (for SC, ST, or PWD candidates).
For Ph.D.: To apply for Ph.D. Course, Candidates must have completed LLM Course with the required 55% aggregate score from any recognized institute. If the candidates belong to SC/ST Category, they can obtain a minimum 50% score in the qualifying examination.
AILET 2025 Application Form & fees
The application form for AILET will be available in online mode. Aspirants who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the application form by visiting National Law University's respective website. The online application process will start in January, and candidates need to submit the application form by 1st week of April.
Steps to fill up the online application form of AILET are as follows.
Step-1 Registration
- Candidates should visit the university's official website (nludelhi.ac.in) and must click on the “Apply Online” Link.
- Then fill up the required details such as Name, Email ID, Contact Number, and other mandatory details.
- After filling up completely, click on the registration button. Then the page will redirect to the Application Locker page.
Step-2-Filling up the application form:
- Candidates are advised to select the desired college from National Law University and then click on the “Apply “Option.
- Candidates need to select the desired course they want to pursue and then click on the “Apply Now” Option.
- Then it will redirect to the Application Form Page, and Candidates need to fill up all the details correctly, which is mentioned in the form.
Step-3 Upload the Photo:
- Candidates need to upload the recent passport-sized photo, and the format should be in Jpg.
- The size of the photo should not exceed above 150KBs.
Step-4 Application Fee Payment:
- All India Law Entrance Test application fees cost approximately 3050 for the General Category.
- Application fee charges for the candidates who belong to SC/ ST/ PWD (Person with Disability) is INR 1050
- AILET Application fees must be paid through online mode (Debit Card/ Credit Card/Net Banking)
AILET 2025 Syllabus & Exam Pattern
AILET Exam Pattern
All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) exam pattern contains the information about the question paper, including subjects, examination mode, marking scheme, duration of exam, types of questions, Total Marks, and other relevant details. National Law University examines offline mode (Pen Paper Based) in May. AILET exam pattern is different for each course. So applicants should check the respective course exam pattern before appearing for the entrance exam.
B.A.LL.B.(Hons):
- The question paper will contain a total of 150 multiple-choice questions.
- There will be four optional answers will be given for each question.
- Exam pattern for B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M and Ph.D. Programs will be in a different format.
LL.M Course:
- The question paper will carry a maximum of 150 marks. There will be 100 objective type questions and 1 essay question. The exam duration will be around 90 minutes.
- The objective type section will contain 100 marks, and the essay section will have 50 characters.

AILET 2025 Admit Card
The National Law University will release AILET Admit Card in the third week of April. Aspirants who have successfully registered can access the AILET Admit Card through the university's official website. Applicants can download the admit card of AILET by using the login credentials. Along with an exact copy of admit card, students need to bring one ID proof (Aadhar Card/ Pan Card/ Voter ID) on the examination day, and it is mandatory. If candidates do not have to admit card on the examination day will not be allowed to take up the entrance exam. The Persons with Disabilities (PWD) category candidates must bring a photocopy of the disability Certificate issued by the competent authority at the examination hall.

- At First, Candidates need to visit National Law University(NLU), Delhi.
- Then click on the “Admit Card Link.”
- Log in by entering the relevant details such as Name, Application Form Number, Date of Birth
- Then click on the “Submit” button to access the Admit card.
- Admit Card will be displayed on the screen
- Candidates are advised to cross-check the details correctly and then download them and then take them out.
AILET 2025 Results & Score Card
AILET Result will be declared in June. Candidates can view their results by visiting the respective site of NLU, Delhi. The product contains the details like marks obtained by the candidate and qualifying status. The question booklet and answer key will be uploaded on the official website. Based on marks scored in the AILET exam, a merit list will be prepared separately for all the categories. Candidates whose name is mentioned in the merit will be shortlisted, and they must appear for AILET Counseling, which the university will conduct to provide admission. Candidates who want to apply for a copy of the OMR sheet can send a DD of Rs.1000/- drawn in favor of Registrar National Law University Delhi.
Steps to check out AILET Result
- Candidates must log on to the respective website of the National Law University.
- Candidates need to click on AILET Portal.
- Then click on the available link stating “AILET Result.”
- Then enter the registration number or roll number to check the result.
- Then AILET Result Scorecard will display on the Screen.
- Download it and take the printout of the scorecard, and it should be submitted during the document verification process at the time of Counselling.
AILET 2025 Counselling & Admission
The National Law University (NLU) Delhi will conduct the All India Law Entrance Test's counseling after the announcement of results. The counseling will start from June last week. According to a category, the university Prepares the merit list based on the candidate's AILET Examination score. NLU will issue the admission letters only for the candidates who qualify in the Law entrance test as per the merit score. The university conducts counseling sessions in an offline mode. Qualified candidates need to appear for counseling as per the given schedule.
- Counseling sessions will have three rounds, and it will release the merit list before each round, and the AILET merit list will be declared officially on the university website.
- Candidates must carefully check their category wise cut off score as well as a schedule to participate in counseling sessions
- Candidates need to carry the required educational documents and certificates and AILET counseling fees INR 100. Candidates need to submit all the documents for the verification process.
- candidates whose educational records will not match the AILET eligibility criteria will be excluded from admission,
- Candidates who got approved by NLU for admission should pay the required admission fee for the chosen course for the seat confirmation
